July 2015.

Shortly after graduating from university I was lucky enough to visit Switzerland for the first time. Words (and pictures) can't fully describe how beautiful this country is. With stunning mountains, lakes and little villages, everywhere you go really is picture perfect.

Within a week we managed to cover Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Interlaken and Lucerne whilst experiencing some beautiful sights along the way.

Possibly one of the most stunning places I've ever visited has to be the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces which overlooks Lake Geneva. Whilst sipping on some authentic Saint-Saphorin wine, we completed a hike across the terraces ending with a wine tasting session at Lavaux Vinorama (Yep lot's of wine!)

Another walk along the banks of Lake Geneva led us to the historical island castle Chateau de Chillon where the medieval architecture presented us with an incredible glimpse of Switzerland's past.

Now of course a trip to Switzerland wouldn't be complete without experiencing the Swiss Alps so a trip to Jungfraujoch offered breathtaking views from the best possible place - the top of Europe! The fact that there's also a Lindt Chocolate Heaven shop at the top isn't too bad either.

Although Switzerland is quite expensive, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit a picturesque country in Europe. This really was a trip of a lifetime.
