Thailand Travels

January 2017

Yep. Another late post - really need to get better at this blogging thing.

Earlier this year I finally had the chance to take a trip to Thailand! What better way to start 2017 than by visiting a country I have ALWAYS wanted to see.

I spent the first week or so in Bangkok mainly doing shopping... a lot of shopping. Aside from the major bargains, the highlight of Bangkok would have to be temple hopping. There's over 400 temples in Thailand and each one of them is just as stunning as the last. I pretty much to followed the tourist route and visited The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho & Wat Arun. Every temple was beautiful and the amount of detail in the architecture is mind blowing so if you're ever in Bangkok make sure you tick this off your bucket list! Be warned though, it can get very very very hot so try to go super early in the day or later in the day when the sun isn't at full force otherwise you'll quickly regret your decision to go temple hopping.

From Bangkok I then made my way to Phuket to spend my last week in Thailand. I stayed in a gorgeous resort by Patong beach which had the perfect mix of relaxed day time activities and a lively nightlife.

Now I couldn't do a trip to Thailand without visiting the famous Phi Phi Islands which was 100% the best part of the entire trip. I went on a full excursion and visited Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh, Maya Bay (Oh hello Leo baby), Monkey Beach and Koh Rang Yai. I even decided to man up and go snorkelling for the first time ever! Although I'm still not a fan of having hundreds of fishes touching me so not sure if I'd do it that again...

Now as pretty as the Instagrams look, the beaches are definitely over crowded with tourists so again I'd recommend going early in the day to avoid the crowds. That being said they're still breathtakingly beautiful and worth the trip.

Overall my Thailand trip lived up to it's expectations and I can't wait to go back!
